Our Dio 45
Collection + Memorabilia
Ronnie Dios
career started out much earlier than most people know. His first 45
record was released in 1958! Dio played with the Prophets and The
Redcaps in the 60's. Here is his only 45 on the Swan label Mr.
Misery / Our Year promo released in 1963.
 
Heres Ronnies only 45 on Atlantic as a teen
in 1962. Love Pains / Ohh Pooh Pah Doo Atlantic 45-2145. Seen here
is a regular copy and a promo copy.
Heres Ronnies only release on Lawn dating to
1963. One of my favorite early Dio records. Gonna Make it Alone /
Swingin Street promo copy.
 
A
few 45s were released on Kapp in 1965. Here are 2 of them ,
Walking Alone / The Way of Love Kapp K-770 and Dear Darlin' /
Smiling By Day (Crying by Night) Kapp K-725.
 
Of
course records as rare as the 1960's Dio 45's eventually had to be
bootlegged. Here are 3 bootleg 45's with nude covers . From left to
right Love Pains , Gonna Make It alone , and Where You Gonna run to
Girl bootleg 45 picture sleeves. These were pretty limited and still
became instant collectibles.
In
the late 60's Dio formed The Electric Elves who later became Elf.
Elf released 3 albums before Ritchie Blackmore convinced Dio to join
his new band Rainbow. Theis is a promo 45 for Hootchie Kootchie Lady
on Epic from 1972.

Dio
did a strange project with his friend Roger Glover called the
Butterfly Ball. It was a cartoon musical based on a childrens book.
Dio sang vocals on 3 tracks and a good many singles were released.
they are pretty hard to find since they are sought after by Dio and
Deep Purple collectors.

Dio
hooks up with legendary guitar genius Ritchie Blackmore who was
forming his own band Rainbow. Long Live Rock -n-Roll (Polydor French

Large Rainbow mobile given to record stores
to promote the Rainbow rising album. Very Rare!
Dio
leaves Rainbow and is replaced by Joe Lynn Turner. Dio joins the
mighty Black Sabbath after Ozzy leaves the band. Black Sabbath
releases 2 studio and 1 live album before Dio leaves to pursue
a solo career taking Vinnie Appice with him. Dio rejoins
Sabbath in 1992 for another incredible album. This is Neon Knights
